Passengers in Wellingborough are being advised to check their travel plans as East Midlands Railway introduces network-wide timetable changes starting Sunday, 17 May 2026. These new schedules will remain in place until 12 December 2026.

While the updates bring changes across the network, local commuters should be aware that the shift coincides with weekend engineering works elsewhere. Route improvement works will affect services between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich on 16 and 17 May, requiring rail replacement buses between Norwich and Peterborough. Additionally, engineering work near Cleethorpes will see buses replace trains to Barton-on-Humber and Lincoln on 17 May.

Wellingborough station is primarily served by electric trains that provide a half-hourly service to London St Pancras, with stops at Kettering, Bedford, Luton, and Luton Airport Parkway. Passengers travelling to northern destinations like Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, or Sheffield typically change at Kettering to access fast services that do not call at Wellingborough.

According to National Rail, all travellers are encouraged to use the National Rail Journey Planner or the company website to verify their specific travel times before heading to the station. These updates, overseen by Transport UK Group and East Midlands Railway Managing Director Will Rogers, also include wider network adjustments, such as new Sunday services on the Robin Hood Line and additional stops at Beeston and Edale.
