Residents in Wellingborough are set for a week of warm and settled weather, with temperatures rising as the week progresses. According to the Met Office, the town will see temperatures climb from 13C on Monday 20 April to a peak of 18C by Thursday 23 April.

The forecast suggests sunny conditions or sunny intervals throughout the entire week, with a very low chance of rain. While the conditions are ideal for outdoor plans, the weather service has highlighted that this period may be a temporary warm spell, sometimes referred to as a fool’s spring, which can be followed by a return to colder conditions.

Gardeners are urged to exercise caution despite the pleasant daytime temperatures. The Royal Horticultural Society advises that night-time temperatures are expected to drop as low as 3C on Tuesday, creating a genuine risk of late-season ground frost. For gardeners in the Midlands, the society recommends waiting until night-time temperatures are consistently above 7C before planting out tender plants, a threshold not typically reached until the end of May.

Those spending time outdoors should also be mindful of UV levels, which are forecast to be moderate throughout the week. The Met Office advises residents to take care during midday hours and to use protection, such as sunscreen, when outside. Additionally, hay fever sufferers should note that pollen counts will be high on Monday, primarily due to birch pollen, before dropping to moderate levels Tuesday-Wednesday and low levels for the remainder of the week.
