Wellingborough residents are being invited to have their say on local issues at the town’s Annual Town Meeting next month. The event will take place at Weatherbys on Sanders Road on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, starting at 6:00 PM.
The meeting, chaired by Mayor Cllr Raj Mishra, will give residents the chance to hear updates from Wellingborough Town Council, learn about ongoing projects, and celebrate community achievements. Councillors will also present Citizens Awards to local people who have made exceptional contributions to the town, and cheques will be handed out to local causes supported by the council.
Cllr Raj Mishra was elected as the fifth Mayor of Wellingborough in May 2025, becoming the first person of Indian origin to hold the position. His chosen charities for this year are Louisa Gregory’s Hospice Campaign and the Veterans Community Network.
Wellingborough Town Council was formed in 2018 and serves approximately 46,000 residents across the area. The council manages community assets including Swanspool Pavilion and Gardens, which was transferred to the council in late 2024 following a grant of more than 786,000 pounds from the government’s Community Ownership Fund.
The meeting is open to all residents and offers a chance to find out more about council activities, ask questions, and recognise the work of local volunteers and community groups. The council’s Citizens Awards scheme was launched in 2022 to celebrate individuals and groups who go above and beyond for Wellingborough.
Attendance is free and no booking is required.
