Wellingborough Bowling Club Wins County League Title by One Point

Wellingborough Bowling Club has won the Northamptonshire Indoor Bowling Association County League title for the second year in a row. The club, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, finished the 2025-26 season just one point ahead of their nearest rivals.

According to the Northamptonshire Indoor Bowling Association, Wellingborough finished at the top of the table with 26 points. Northampton took second place with 25 points, while Desborough finished in third with 24 points.

This victory marks the second consecutive championship for the local team, who also won the trophy in 2025. The season officially concluded on 14 March 2026, with Wellingborough securing the win following the final round of matches.

To celebrate the success, Wellingborough Bowling Club held a community open day on 23 March 2026. The club was first established in 1895 and is located on Hatton Street, where it offers both indoor and outdoor bowling greens.

The league competition uses a triples format where teams of three play games consisting of 16 ends. Other clubs competing in the league this year included Kingsthorpe, Rushden, Daventry, Kettering Lodge, and Brackley.
