A 45-year-old man from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a knife following a serious assault in the town. James Gore, a resident of the Brentford area, appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court on 17 March 2026.

The charges against Gore include one count of attempted murder and one count of possessing a knife blade or a sharp pointed article in a public place. During the court hearing, his case was sent to Northampton Crown Court where more serious legal matters are heard.

Investigators from Northamptonshire Police are now appealing to the local community for help with the case. They would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident in the Brentford neighbourhood or has information that could assist their work.

People can report what they know by calling the police non-emergency number. The investigation is still active as the legal process continues through the courts, and officers remain focused on gathering evidence regarding the assault in the residential area.
