Officers from the Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team are inviting residents to share their local concerns and receive crime prevention advice at a series of community meetings held throughout the area this April.

The neighbourhood team, led by Inspector Ruth Maher, is visiting several local venues to discuss current policing priorities. These meetings allow residents to speak directly with officers about issues in their neighbourhoods and gain practical information on how to keep their homes and property safe.

The drop-in sessions are taking place at the following locations:

  • Wednesday 15 April: Finedon Library and Irchester Library, both from 10:00 to 12:00.
  • Thursday 16 April: Market Street outside Swansgate from 10:00 to 12:00.
  • Friday 17 April: The Square, Earls Barton, from 14:00 to 16:00, and Finedon Library from 14:00 to 16:00.
  • Saturday 18 April: Wollaston Library from 10:00 to 12:00.

Additionally, a session is set for Tuesday 21 April at 19:00 at the Crow Hill Community Centre on Fettledine Road.

The Wellingborough Town Council works alongside the police to support these community safety initiatives. According to police data from February 2026, the most frequently reported incidents in the Wellingborough North area were violence and sexual offences (60), followed by anti-social behaviour (28).

These meetings build on previous successful engagement efforts, such as a crime prevention event held in May 2025 in Market Street that saw approximately 300 residents attend to collect safety information.
