Residents in Wellingborough should prepare for a blustery and unsettled weekend, with the Met Office warning of strong winds and rain showers throughout Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday 11 April, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 12°C. However, strong winds with gusts of up to 35mph will make it feel much colder, dropping to an apparent temperature of 8°C during the day and as low as 3°C overnight. The morning will be mostly overcast with a 40% chance of rain, followed by a transition to sunny intervals and blustery conditions in the afternoon.

Conditions remain changeable on Sunday 12 April, which will be slightly warmer with a high of 14°C. While the day starts with sunny intervals, light showers are likely in the afternoon, with a 50% to 60% chance of precipitation between 1pm and 7pm. Wind gusts are expected to reach 30mph during the day.

Those planning outdoor activities should note that pollen levels will be high on Saturday, though they are expected to drop to moderate levels by Sunday. Air pollution levels are forecast to remain low throughout the weekend. The latest forecast, updated on the morning of 10 April, follows a particularly volatile start to the month, which included both record-breaking warmth and the impact of Storm Dave.
