Families in Welwyn Garden City are invited to attend a free science experiment show at The Howard Centre on Tuesday 26 May 2026. The event, hosted by Wild Science, will run from 3pm to 4pm in Unit 23A, which is located next to Pandora.

The interactive session promises to include “fizz, bang and pop” experiments for children. The demonstration will focus on the science of bubbles and explore the different states of matter. The event is taking place in a 1,442 sq ft unit currently managed by Green & Partners.

This performance is part of a series of recent community-focused activities at the shopping centre. On 20 May 2026, The Howard Centre introduced two beehives housing over 30,000 bees to support local biodiversity. These initiatives are occurring as the town centre continues to see activity despite wider economic challenges facing the retail sector.

Residents can find more information about the science demonstration by visiting the event listing. The venue, which sits adjacent to Pandora at Unit 24, remains a central hub for the area, serving approximately 8 million visitors each year across its two floors of retail space.
