Welwyn Garden City Football Club celebrated the end of their 2025/26 campaign with an awards ceremony on 27 April 2026, honouring the standout performances of the season. The club, known locally as The Citizens, finished in eighth place in the Southern League Division One Central after a competitive year that saw them secure 18 wins and 69 points.
Central defender Aiden Read was the most decorated player of the evening, walking away with four awards. Read has become a key figure in the team’s defence since joining the squad two seasons ago from Cockfosters.
Veteran striker Steve Cawley also received significant recognition for his contribution to the team. After joining the club last summer from Potters Bar Town, Cawley finished the season as the top goalscorer with 20 goals.
