Wolverhampton bus passengers face a raft of diversions while three city centre roads are shut for Pride celebrations. From noon until about 3pm on 6 June, National Express West Midlands is rerouting services 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 6A, 10, 10A, 16, 62 and 62A away from Waterloo Road, Lichfield Street and Queen Street.
The closures will be in place to accommodate Wolverhampton Pride, which runs from 2pm until 8pm at West Park. The festival, now in its fourth year since returning in 2023 after a four-year gap, has become a mainstay of the city’s Rainbow City programme.
Bus users are being urged to plan ahead, allow extra time and check for alternative stops while the diversions are active. Full details were posted by the operator on 29 May on its service updates page.
Real-time travel information during the event can also be found through Transport for West Midlands. Pride wristbands for the festival have been sponsored by Enjoy Wolverhampton BID.
The road closures and service changes are expected to clear once the parade has moved through the affected streets, with normal routes resuming by mid-afternoon.
