A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing on Brewery Road in Wolverhampton on the evening of Wednesday 20 May 2026.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust was called to the scene at approximately 6.30pm. Emergency teams provided advanced trauma care to the man before he was moved to the hospital for further treatment.

To assist with the emergency, the ambulance service deployed two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and a Medical Emergency Response and Intervention Team. This specialist team is a 24-hour regional asset that includes a pre-hospital consultant doctor and a critical care paramedic to provide expert help during the most serious incidents.

The incident occurs as Wolverhampton has seen recent improvements in local crime rates. Official figures show that total crime in the area fell by 7% in the year leading up to March 2026. Additionally, reports indicate that violent incidents involving knives among people under the age of 25 dropped by more than 34% during the same period.

West Midlands Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
