Wolverhampton City Centre Neighbourhood Police made 43 arrests during March 2026 as part of a concentrated effort to tackle theft, robbery, and burglary in the area. The local police team, led by Sergeant Jonathan Peters, continues to focus on improving safety for residents, commuters, and visitors in the city centre.

As part of a broader commitment to safety, authorities have launched Op Vigilant. This initiative uses high-visibility patrols to protect women and girls during weekday evenings and weekends. Officers are actively engaging with the public to provide reassurance and promote a safer environment throughout the city.

Support for night-time visitors has also been expanded through a £200,000 partnership investment. The Safe Haven hub, located at The 01902 in Queen Square, is now open every Friday and Saturday night from 10:30pm until 3:30am. The hub offers assistance such as phone charging, water, and support with arranging transport home.

This initiative is supported by the Safer Wolverhampton Partnership, which includes the City of Wolverhampton Council, Enjoy Wolverhampton BID, West Midlands Police, and the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership. In addition to these efforts, local police community support officers have been conducting crime prevention seminars at key locations including the bus station, ASDA, and the Natwest bank in Queen Square to help residents keep their belongings secure.
