Passengers travelling from Wolverhampton are being warned of significant disruption to rail services today, 22 May, and tomorrow, 23 May, as a result of industrial action. The strike by members of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association affects both West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway, leading to a severely reduced timetable across the network.

The West Midlands Railway network is operating a limited service because of the dispute, which involves approximately 100 staff members, including control staff, roster clerks, and duty train crew managers. The union is seeking parity on payments for working on rest days, stating that their members currently receive less than colleagues in other unions. Negotiations mediated by ACAS failed to resolve the issue before the strike action commenced.

According to Transport for West Midlands, there will be no train services running after 19:00 today, Friday 22 May. Service will remain limited on Saturday 23 May, with no trains operating before 07:00.

Passengers are strongly advised to only travel if it is absolutely necessary on both days. Those who must travel are encouraged to check for the latest service information before leaving home to avoid potential delays or cancellations caused by the Industrial Action.
