City of Wolverhampton College is holding an open evening today, Wednesday, 22 April 2026, welcoming potential students to explore its facilities and course offerings at both its city centre and Bilston locations. Running from 4pm to 7pm, the event is open to school leavers, adults looking to change careers or upskill, and anyone interested in local training opportunities, including apprenticeships and higher education qualifications.

Visitors can attend the college’s City Learning Quarter campus in the city centre or the Wellington Road campus in Bilston to tour industry-standard facilities. The city centre site features digital areas, science labs, and professional studios for broadcasting, music, photography, and performing arts. At the Bilston campus, attendees can view the Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre, which includes a drive-in electric vehicle lab and specialized engineering equipment, alongside a construction centre, sports centre, and professional bakery.

The event arrives shortly after the college was named one of only nineteen in England to be awarded Technical Excellence College status for advanced manufacturing. This recognition grants the institution a share of £175 million in government funding to support specialist training in sectors crucial for economic growth. College leadership described this national achievement as a significant moment for the city and a way to improve specialist skills for the region.

The college, which maintains a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, works with over 700 employers annually. Prospective students are encouraged to visit during the open evening to learn more about full-time and part-time study options available for the upcoming academic year.
