The City of Wolverhampton Council and local police seized more than 800 items of suspected counterfeit clothing from a shop in Bilston, West Midlands, during February 2026. This joint operation was launched to protect shoppers and local businesses from illegal and unsafe goods.

The seized haul included suspected fake sportswear, coats, footwear, and accessories. These products featured fraudulent versions of popular brand names such as Nike, The North Face, and Calvin Klein.

The raid was organised after a member of the public reported the store to the authorities. Officers from the Bilston Neighbourhood Police Team monitored the shop before joining Trading Standards staff to carry out the search and remove the items.

According to the City of Wolverhampton Council, the retailer is now under investigation for suspected offences under the Trade Marks Act 1994. Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal stated that profits from fake goods are often used to fund serious crimes like drug trafficking and forced labour.
