West Midlands Police launched a public consultation in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, on February 18, 2026, to ask residents for their opinions on how to tackle antisocial behaviour in their neighbourhoods.

People living in the city are being encouraged to share their experiences to help decide where local officers should focus their patrols and resources over the coming year. This feedback will be used to support the latest safety plan from the Safer Wolverhampton Partnership, which involves the police and the City of Wolverhampton Council.

This new push for community views follows the success of previous measures, such as a 2024 order that helped reduce recorded crime by 16 per cent in the city centre. During that time, robberies in the heart of the city also dropped by half while officers carried out work under a dedicated project called Operation Nosco.

The police now have access to stronger tools granted by the government in February 2025, including the ability to issue Respect Orders and seize illegal off-road bikes without giving a warning first. By listening to residents, West Midlands Police aim to use these powers to address specific local problems like drug use or nuisance behaviour in residential streets.

Other organisations including Wolverhampton Homes are also working with the police to ensure the feedback from the community leads to more effective patrols and safer streets across the whole city.
