The York College & University Centre in York, North Yorkshire, has shut its doors to all students and staff today, Friday 13 March 2026, due to an ongoing water supply issue. This emergency closure was announced because the campus is currently without a reliable water source for students and employees.
All student lessons have been cancelled for the day because there was not enough time to make other arrangements for the classes. This affects everyone studying at the college, including school leavers and those working toward university degrees.
Staff who were supposed to be on the site have been instructed to work from home instead. The campus will remain closed to everyone for the duration of the day while the water problem is addressed.
