York College is holding an open event for prospective students and their families on April 29, 2026, at its campus in York, North Yorkshire. The evening will run from 17:30 to 19:30 to help people choose their future courses and see the building before they apply for the upcoming term.

Attendees will be able to find out about a new way of learning called the York College Mix for the 2026/27 school year. This system, as described by York College, lets students take a mix of A Levels and practical subjects to better fit their career goals.

Visitors can tour the site at Sim Balk Lane to see professional areas like the Alan Ayckbourn Theatre and the Construction and Skills Centre. The college, led by Principal Ken Merry, currently holds a Good rating from inspectors following its latest review.

Teachers and advisors will be available during the night to explain how to get funding and what grades are needed to start a course. The institution has supported many successful people over the years, including Rachel Daly, a former sports student who was awarded an MBE in 2025 for her services to football.
